“Clusters affect competition in three broad ways: first, by increasing the productivity of companies based in the area; second, by driving the direction and pace of innovation, which underpins future productivity growth; and third, by stimulating the formation of new businesses, which expands and strengthens the cluster itself.” Michael E. Porter, Harvard Business School, expert on competitiveness
We publish a catalogue for each Luxinnovation cluster
The competitiveness of a country in the modern world is increasingly reliant upon effective innovation networks. The Luxembourg clusters reinforce the links between business and research in order to boost innovation. They also serve to highlight the capabilities of Luxembourg’s dynamic innovation community.
The clusters included in the initiative are not randomly chosen. They focus on strategically selected key technologies and aim to further boost already successful economic fields in Luxembourg as well as to develop new business sectors which show the greatest potential for the future sustainable development of the national economy.
Major corporations, small and medium-sized companies and public research institutions all benefit from a comprehensive range of individualised services offered by the clusters. They are able to leverage their know-how and expertise via access to the pooled knowledge, resources and networks of cluster members.
All this opens the doors to better processes, higher productivity, increased cooperative RDI, potential new markets and new growth opportunities. The ultimate goal is sustainable continuous growth of the Luxembourg economy in order to secure our standard of living and quality of life in the long term.
